Explore the magnificent Vesuvius National Park, an area rich in biodiversity that oers a unique experience. With 11 trails totaling 54 km of walking paths, the park invites you to plan your visit, choosing between exciting hiking routes immersed in greenery or the unforgettable experience of ascending the Great Cono trail.


VISIT THE CRATER OF THE VESUVIUS

The nature trail No. 5, "Gran Cono," provides an extraordinary experience, allowing you to walk along the crater of an active volcano and enjoy breathtaking views of the gulf of Naples and its islands, Capri, Ischia, and Procida. FEATURES OF THE PATH:

Access to the trail is permitted only in groups of 60 visitors every 10 minutes, following the purchase of tickets.

TIPS



Comfortable Clothing : Wear comfortable shoes and clothing suitable for walking and exploring uneven terrain.


Water And Snacks : Stay hydrated by bringing water, and consider bringing snacks as there are no refreshment points within the site.


Weather : The temperature on the crater is lower in autumn and winter compared to the base of the volcano, and the wind can suddenly increase, so bring a jacket with you. In the case of a weather alert due to adverse conditions, the path will be closed.

It is recommended to complete the ticket purchase before reaching the national park, as internet connection may not be guaranteed on-site.


PRICE

The cost of the entrance ticket varies depending on the type of ticket purchased.

Full fare Ticket : For any other visitor 

Reduced Ticket : young people under the age of 25. 

Free Entry : Children under the age of 6.


Entrance to the site is only allowed at the time indicated on the purchased ticket although there is leeway of 40 minutes beforehand and 100 minutes afterwards.

TRANSFER



From Pompeii, you can use shared and private transfers with pick-up at our bed and breakfast to reach an altitude of 1000 meters and the hike up to climb the crater. Transfers depart daily starting from 9:00 am, and you can book it at our reception along with the entrance ticket.

BUS



From the entrance of the Pompeii ruins, Piazza Anfiteatro, you can use the EAV bus that connects Pompeii with the Mount Vesuvius (terminus: 1000 meters altitude). The journey takes approximately 55 minutes, the ticket costs €3.10 one way, and it can be purchased on board.
